16 MHz MSP430 CPUXV2 with 32 KB FRAM — metering-class MCU
The MSP430FR6041IPNR: Its 32 KB of FRAM program memory combines the non-volatility of Flash with near-SRAM write speeds and essentially unlimited endurance — no wear-leveling needed for frequent data logging in utility metering or flow-sensor applications. The 12K x 8 RAM provides scratchpad for buffered ADC results and communication frames. On-chip peripherals include a 10-channel 12-bit SAR ADC, brown-out detect/reset, POR, PWM, WDT, and an LCD driver — a complete signal-chain companion for a gas or water meter front-end. Connectivity covers I²C, SPI, and IrDA, enough for a sensor hub or sub-GHz radio interface. The 57 I/O lines in the 80-LQFP package give room for a segmented LCD and keypad scan without external expanders.
