FRAM memory — no EEPROM emulation needed
That means you can treat it like RAM for data logging or OTA firmware staging without worrying about flash endurance or needing a separate EEPROM. The 1K x 8 RAM handles stack and scratchpad.
Serial interfaces and I/O count
That's enough to hang a display, a couple of sensors, and a wireless module without an external port expander. The 14-channel 12-bit ADC (A/D 14x12b) captures analog inputs directly — no separate converter needed for thermistor or current-sense feedback.
Housed in a 40-VFQFN exposed-pad package (6x6 mm body, 40-VQFN). Surface-mount only.
ROHS3 compliant. The base product number is MSP430FR5957, so variants with different package or temperature grade share the same core. For a spare-parts storeroom, this part is a safe stock-keeping choice: it's current, widely available through distribution, and the FRAM technology avoids the wear-out concerns of flash-based MCUs in long-life field deployments.
