128 KB FRAM — what it changes for the firmware strategy
What sets it apart from the usual Flash-based MCU is its program memory: 128 KB of FRAM (ferroelectric RAM). FRAM writes at bus speed, draws negligible power during writes, and is rated for endurance orders of magnitude beyond Flash — no wear-leveling needed for frequent data logging or parameter updates. It also unifies code and data storage, so you can treat the 128 KB as a single memory map without separate EEPROM emulation.
Housed in a 64-pin LQFP measuring 10x10 mm, the package is a standard QFP footprint that hand-solders cleanly with a fine-tip iron and reflows without special stencil requirements.
