Peripherals and connectivity — what is on the bus
The on-chip peripheral set includes a brown-out detect and reset, DMA controller, POR, PWM timer, and watchdog timer. For serial communication, the MSP430FR5847IDAR supports I²C, IrDA, SCI, SPI, and UART/USART — enough to talk to common sensors, displays, and module-level interfaces without external protocol converters. The 12-bit ADC with 12 input channels samples at rates adequate for slow-to-moderate analog signals like temperature, pressure, or current sense.
