FRAM memory — the real differentiator
Its headline feature is 8 KB of FRAM program memory, a non-volatile storage technology that writes at bus speed with essentially unlimited endurance — orders of magnitude more write cycles than Flash, at a fraction of the write energy. The 8 MHz CPUXV2 core, 1K x 8 RAM, and 17 I/O lines package the essentials for a compact control loop, with I²C, SPI, and UART connectivity for sensor or display interfaces.
Package and rework consideration
The 24-VFQFN Exposed Pad package (4x4 mm, 0.5 mm pitch) is a hand-reworkable QFN if you have a hot-air station and a fine tip. The exposed thermal pad needs a via stitch to the ground plane for heat sinking; without it, continuous operation above 85°C ambient will push the junction.
