FRAM memory: no EEPROM needed, fast writes, field updates
Its headline feature is 32.5 KB of FRAM program memory — a non-volatile storage that writes at bus speed without the erase cycles of Flash, so you can treat it like RAM that remembers through power loss. The 4 KB SRAM provides scratchpad for stack and variables, while the 16 MHz CPU clock handles control loops and sensor fusion at moderate throughput.
8-channel 12-bit SAR ADC and serial connectivity
An 8-channel 12-bit SAR ADC is integrated, giving you enough analog inputs for multi-sensor acquisition (temperature, pressure, current sense) without an external multiplexer. The 12-bit resolution is adequate for most industrial sensing loops. The 27 general-purpose I/O pins in the 32-VQFN package provide reasonable headroom for a mixed-signal control board. Peripherals include brown-out detect and reset (BOR), power-on reset (POR), PWM timers, and a watchdog timer — the usual set for reliable standalone operation.
Package and footprint: 32-VQFN with exposed pad
Housed in a 32-VFQFN exposed-pad package (supplier package 32-VQFN, 5x5 mm), this is a compact, surface-mount device. The datasheet's recommended footprint includes a central via pattern under the pad — skipping it can lead to thermal runaway above 200 mA continuous I/O load. The package is MSL 3, so bake before reflow if the moisture-barrier bag has been open longer than the floor-life window.
