This part integrates a 10-channel 12-bit ADC and a 4-channel 12-bit DAC. For a design that reads multiple analog sensors (thermistors, pressure transducers, current shunts) and outputs a control voltage or setpoint, those on-chip converters can replace external ADC/DAC chips and their support passives. The 4 DAC channels are handy for multi-axis actuator bias or trim voltages.
