16 MHz MSP430 core with 1 KB FRAM — what fits in that footprint
The MSP430FR2100IPW16R: It carries 1 KB of FRAM program memory and 512 bytes of RAM, with 12 general-purpose I/O lines and an 8-channel 10-bit ADC. The FRAM memory type is the headline feature here: it writes at near-SRAM speed, consumes negligible power in standby, and retains data without a backup battery — a real advantage over Flash in low-power or frequently-updated applications. The 16-TSSOP package keeps the board footprint small for space-constrained designs.
It is not qualified for automotive under-hood (no AEC-Q100 in the record), but the industrial range covers most commercial and light-industrial environments.
