The Texas Instruments MSP430FR2033IPM is a 16-bit microcontroller with a 16 MHz core and 15.5 KB FRAM. FRAM writes at bus speed with high endurance, eliminating the need for EEPROM emulation. It includes 2K x 8 SRAM, 60 I/O, a 10-channel 10-bit ADC, and operates from 1.8 V to 3.6 V over -40°C to 85°C.

Peripheral set and connectivity
Connectivity covers I²C, IrDA, SCI, SPI, and UART/USART — enough for serial sensor buses, a local debug UART, and a display link. The Brown-out Detect/Reset and POR circuits are on-chip, so external supervisor ICs are optional. The internal oscillator runs the core, but the listed peripherals may require an external crystal for accurate baud rates. 60 I/O lines in a 64-LQFP (10x10 mm) leave room for a parallel keypad matrix and a segment LCD driver on the same die.
