8 MHz core — what it means for the BOM
The 8 MHz clock is modest by today's MCU standards, but this part was never meant for number-crunching. Its strength is the analog integration: the 12-bit ADC and DAC let it handle sensor conditioning and closed-loop control without external converters, which keeps the BOM count low and the board layout simple. The 120 KB Flash is generous for firmware that includes lookup tables or calibration curves.
