On-chip peripherals include brown-out detect/reset, POR, PWM, WDT, and a DMA engine that can move data between ADC results and RAM without CPU intervention. The LCD driver supports up to 160 segments, which saves an external segment driver IC on the BOM.
Housed in a 113-ball NFBGA measuring 7x7 mm (0.5 mm pitch), this is a fine-pitch BGA that requires a stencil with 0.3 mm apertures and a reflow profile matched to the ROHS3-compliant solder spheres. The 80 I/O count in this footprint makes it a dense interconnect option for a two-layer board, but the BGA fan-out will need at least four layers for clean routing.
