Six 24-bit sigma-delta ADCs and a 25 MHz CPU — built for polyphase metering
Its defining feature is the integration of six 24-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters, purpose-designed for polyphase energy measurement, power quality monitoring, and precision industrial sensing.
Peripheral set for smart-grid and sensor fusion
Beyond the six sigma-delta ADCs, the device integrates an LCD driver for direct display connection, a brown-out detect and reset circuit, DMA controller, PWM timer, and watchdog timer. Serial connectivity includes I²C, IrDA, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART, making it suitable for communicating with external sensors, modems, or a host processor in a smart meter or data acquisition node. The 62 general-purpose I/O pins in the 100-LQFP package provide ample headroom for system interface.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent distribution
Texas Instruments has classified the MSP430F6768IPZR as obsolete. For BOM lines that require this exact order code, supply is limited to new-old-stock and surplus inventory held by independent distributors.
