Six 24-bit sigma-delta ADCs — built for polyphase metering
Its standout feature is the six independent 24-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters — a peripheral set architected for polyphase energy metering, power-quality monitoring, and precision sensor acquisition. The 90 general-purpose I/O lines and connectivity options (I²C, IrDA, LINbus, SPI, UART/USART) let it interface with metrology AFEs, communication modules, and display controllers on a single chip.
128-LQFP footprint and layout considerations
The 128-LQFP package (20 x 14 mm body, 0.4 mm pitch) is a fine-pitch SMD that demands a controlled reflow profile and careful PCB layout. The exposed thermal pad on the bottom of the package must be soldered to a ground-plane via array for adequate heat transfer — without that via stitch, junction temperature can exceed limits at high I/O toggling rates or when all six ADCs are converting simultaneously.
