Peripheral set and connectivity
Beyond the sigma-delta converters, the device includes a 10-bit ADC with 8 multiplexed channels, a brown-out detect and reset circuit, DMA, PWM, and a watchdog timer. For serial communication it supports I²C, IrDA, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART, giving the designer flexibility for isolated or multi-protocol interfaces. The 62 I/O lines in the 100-LQFP package allow ample connection to external sensors, memory, or a host processor.
The internal oscillator reduces external BOM count, though the designer can also feed an external clock.
