Dual ADC architecture — 24-bit sigma-delta for metering
The three 24-bit sigma-delta ADCs are the headline feature. They deliver the dynamic range needed for single-phase or polyphase energy metering, power-quality monitoring, and precision sensor front-ends without an external analog front-end. The companion 8-channel 10-bit ADC handles auxiliary channels (temperature, voltage sensing) at lower resolution. This dual-ADC approach keeps the bill of materials lean — no separate ADC or LCD driver IC needed.
Integrated LCD driver and peripheral set
The on-chip LCD driver directly drives segment or dot-matrix displays, saving board space and eliminating a display controller. Combined with the brown-out detect, DMA, PWM timer, and watchdog timer, this MCU can run a self-contained metering or instrumentation node with minimal external components. The 72 I/O lines in the 100-LQFP package provide ample headroom for local UI, relay drivers, and communication interfaces.
