16-bit MCU with integrated analog front-end
The MSP430F6638IZCAT is a 16-bit microcontroller from the MSP430F6xx series, running at 20 MHz. It carries 256 KB of Flash program memory and 18K x 8 of RAM. The device integrates a 16-channel 12-bit ADC and a 2-channel 12-bit DAC, which reduces the external analog BOM for sensor interface or closed-loop control loops. Peripherals include a DMA controller, LCD driver, brown-out detect/reset, POR, PWM, and a watchdog timer — enough to handle a control panel or data-acquisition front-end without glue logic.
20 MHz core — what it means for mixed-signal throughput
At 20 MHz the core delivers roughly 20 MIPS. The DMA engine offloads the core for background data movement.
Supply range and temperature grade
Operates from 1.8 V to 3.6 V supply. Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient.
