USB and mixed-signal on one die
The integrated USB 2.0 peripheral (full-speed, 12 Mbps) and the 12-bit ADC/DAC eliminate the need for a separate USB bridge chip and external converter in many designs. The 16-channel ADC covers multi-sensor front-ends; the dual DAC handles analog output or reference generation. For designs that need USB but not the DAC, the MSP430F6637 still carries the DAC — it is on the die whether you use it or not.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
