MSP430F5436IPZ — 16-bit MCU for industrial control and sensor fusion
The MSP430F5xx series 16-bit microcontroller runs at 18 MHz with 192 KB Flash and 16 KB RAM. The 100-LQFP package (14x14 mm) provides 87 I/O lines. Peripherals include a 16-channel, 12-bit ADC, multiple serial interfaces (I²C, SPI, UART/USART, IrDA, LINbus, SCI), and built-in brown-out detect, DMA, POR, PWM, and watchdog timer. The internal oscillator eliminates the need for an external crystal in many designs. Operating from 2.2 V to 3.6 V and rated from -40°C to 85°C, it is suited for factory automation, outdoor telecom, and sensor hub applications.
Peripheral integration — reducing BOM count
With I²C, SPI, and multiple UARTs on-chip, the MSP430F5436IPZ can interface directly with digital sensors, external ADCs, RF modules, and serial displays without an external bridge IC. The 16-channel 12-bit ADC captures analog inputs from potentiometers, current shunts, or thermistors. The internal oscillator and brown-out reset further reduce external component count, shrinking board area in space-constrained enclosures.
