The MSP430F5256IZQER: The 25 MHz clock on the 16-bit MSP430 CPUXV2 core gives this MCU a throughput sweet spot for control-loop and sensor-processing tasks that don't need a 32-bit pipeline. At 25 MHz the core can service a 10 kHz PID loop with headroom for protocol overhead and interrupt latency.
Rework requires a hot-air station with a nozzle sized for the 5 mm body, a preheat plate to keep the board from warping, and a stencil for solder paste if you're replacing it.
