The Texas Instruments MSP430F5227IYFFT is a 16-bit microcontroller from the MSP430F5xx family, built around the MSP430 CPUXV2 core running at 25 MHz. The 64-DSBGA package (0.5 mm pitch, 64-ball wafer-level chip-scale) keeps the footprint small — 4.5 mm × 4.5 mm — but the fine pitch and exposed die mean the PCB layout must match the DSBGA land pattern exactly; a 4-layer board with microvias is typical for routing out all 31 I/O and the supply rails.
On-chip peripherals and connectivity for sensor and control loops
