The MSP430F4491IPZR: 48 general-purpose I/O lines, SPI and UART/USART serial interfaces, plus on-chip peripherals including a brown-out detect, POR, PWM, and a watchdog timer. The LCD driver is integrated — no external segment controller needed for a character or simple graphic display.
Housed in a 100-LQFP (14x14 mm) surface-mount package. Internal oscillator eliminates the external crystal for the main clock — one less BOM line. The 16-bit MSP430 CPU16 core draws low active current at 8 MHz, and the multiple low-power modes (LPM0–LPM4) let the firmware drop into microamp sleep between measurement cycles.
