64-pin LQFP — rework-friendly footprint
Housed in a 64-LQFP package (10x10 mm body), the MSP430F248TPMR is a surface-mount part with 0.5 mm pitch leads. The LQFP is a rework-friendly package — a hot-air station can lift and replace it without damaging the board, provided the pad layout follows the recommended land pattern. The 64 pins give access to all 48 I/O plus power, ground, and the JTAG/SWD debug interface. No exposed thermal pad means the package relies on the leads for heat dissipation; keep the ambient airflow adequate if running near the 105°C limit at full I/O toggle rate.
The base product number is MSP430F248, so any future die revisions or package variants will carry the same base number for cross-referencing.
