16 MHz — what it means for the bus
16 MHz is the core clock. That is enough for 16-bit multiply-accumulate loops and moderate sensor polling rates, but leaves no headroom for heavy DSP or real-time control loops needing sub-microsecond interrupt latency.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient, this covers most industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and automotive cabin applications. It is not rated for under-hood or downhole environments that exceed 85°C. The Flash retention is specified across the full temperature range, so firmware updates in the field are safe as long as the ambient stays within the rated window.
