Package and board-fit: 40-VQFN with exposed pad
The MSP430F2274IRHAT comes in a 40-VFQFN Exposed Pad package (supplier device package 40-VQFN 6x6 mm).
Core and memory: 16-bit MSP430 CPU16 at 16 MHz, 32 KB Flash, 1 KB RAM
The 16-bit MSP430 CPU16 core runs at 16 MHz with 32 KB of on-chip Flash program memory (32K x 8 + 256B) and 1 KB of RAM (1K x 8). The 256-byte information memory segment is separate from the main Flash array — use it for calibration constants or boot-configuration data that survive a full-chip erase. Program memory type is Flash, so firmware updates in the field are possible via the bootstrap loader (BSL) or a debugger connection. The 1 KB RAM is tight for a full TCP/IP stack but adequate for sensor fusion, state machines, or command buffers in a low-power polling loop.
Peripherals and I/O: 32 GPIO, 12-channel 10-bit ADC, serial interfaces
32 general-purpose I/O lines give enough headroom for a 16-bit data bus plus handshake signals or a matrix keypad. The 12-channel 10-bit ADC (A/D 12x10b) samples analog sensors — thermistors, potentiometers, current shunts — without an external ADC. Serial connectivity includes I²C, SPI, UART/USART, plus IrDA and LINbus for automotive or industrial fieldbus bridging.
