AEC-Q100 qualification — what it means for the BOM
The MSP430F2272TRHARQ1 carries the AEC-Q100 automotive qualification mark, which means it has passed the full suite of stress tests defined by the Automotive Electronics Council: high-temperature operating life (HTOL), temperature cycling, moisture sensitivity, and ESD robustness. The -40°C to 105°C operating range covers cabin and under-hood locations for most passenger vehicles. For a tier-1 supplier, this part arrives with the PPAP documentation the OEM auditor expects — capable is not qualified, and this one is qualified.
Connectivity and I/O
The 32 I/O lines include a hardware LIN transceiver interface, SPI for serial EEPROM or sensor connection, and I²C for a local temperature sensor or display controller. The 12-channel 10-bit ADC samples analog sensors directly — no external ADC needed for a typical LIN slave measuring a potentiometer or thermistor.
