8 KB Flash, 512 B RAM — sizing the firmware footprint
Program memory is 8 KB organized as 8K x 8 plus 256 B for information storage. The 512 x 8 RAM is the working-memory ceiling — stack, variables, and any lookup table must live within that, or the compiler spills to Flash. For designs that need more headroom, the MSP430F2xx family scales up in Flash and RAM density while keeping the same CPU core and peripheral set.
