Active 16-bit MCU with 8 KB flash for low-power control
The MSP430F2131IPW is an active-production 16-bit microcontroller from the MSP430F2xx series, built around the MSP430 CPU16 core clocked at 16 MHz. The 8 KB on-chip flash and 256 x 8 bytes of RAM give it enough headroom for a single control loop, sensor interface, or basic HMI task without external memory.
On-chip peripherals include brown-out detect and POR for reliable power-up sequencing, a PWM timer for motor or LED drive, and a watchdog timer for system recovery — these reduce the external component count on a two-layer board.
