Dropout margin at the low end is tight — 1.8 V is the absolute minimum, so a battery nearing end-of-life at 1.9 V still keeps the core alive. The internal POR and BOR supervise the rail, so you don't need an external supervisor for brown-out protection.
8-channel 10-bit ADC — sensor front-end without an external converter
Eight analog inputs with 10-bit resolution cover most low-speed sensor acquisition tasks — thermistors, potentiometers, current shunts, or simple strain-gauge bridges. The ADC shares pins with digital I/O, so a layout engineer can route the analog traces to the dedicated pins and leave the rest for GPIO. No external ADC means one fewer IC to qualify and one fewer decoupling cap on the BOM.
