16 MHz clock rate handles basic control loops, periodic sensor reads, and serial communication without a heavy timing budget.
Memory and ADC — sizing the firmware and analog front end
2 KB of Flash and 256 bytes of RAM constrain the firmware size to small control routines and a handful of variables. The 8-channel 10-bit ADC covers basic analog inputs like temperature sensors or potentiometers without an external converter. If the application requires more than 2 KB of code space or higher ADC resolution, a larger member of the MSP430F2xx family or a different series would be needed.
