The MSP430F2013QRSATEP is a 16-bit MCU from the MSP430F2xx family, built around the MSP430 CPU16 core running at 16 MHz. The 10-channel, 16-bit ADC is a sigma-delta type, not a successive-approximation converter. It delivers high resolution at low sample rates — suited for DC measurement, temperature sensing, or strain-gauge bridges where noise rejection matters more than conversion speed.
On-chip brown-out detect, power-on reset, and watchdog timer eliminate the external supervisor IC in cost-sensitive designs. The internal oscillator trims to ±1% accuracy after calibration — no external crystal needed for UART or slow I²C baud rates.
16-QFN package — thermal and layout notes
Surface-mount only — the 0.5 mm pitch QFN demands a solder-paste stencil with 0.25 mm apertures for the perimeter pads. The centre pad should have a 2x2 via pattern with 0.3 mm finished hole diameter to avoid solder wicking.
