The MSP430AFE223IPWR: The 12 MHz MSP430 CPU16 core has enough headroom to run the digital filter on the ADC output and handle SPI or UART communication without dropping samples. For a single-function measurement controller, the 4 KB Flash and 256 bytes RAM are tight but workable — the application code is typically a state machine that reads the ADC, applies a correction, and sends the result.
The 24-TSSOP package is a fine-pitch surface-mount footprint — 0.65 mm lead pitch, 4.4 mm body width. Standard reflow profile applies; no special bake-out required for MSL level (not stated, but typical for this package class). On-chip peripherals include brown-out reset, a PWM timer, and a watchdog timer — enough to supervise the supply and generate a periodic wake-up without external components.
