16-bit MSP430 MCU for low-power control
The Texas Instruments MSP430A025IPM is a 16-bit MSP430 core microcontroller from the MSP430x1xx series, clocked at 8 MHz with 32 KB of Flash program memory and 1 KB of RAM. It integrates a 12-bit ADC (8 channels), SPI and UART/USART connectivity, plus POR, PWM, and WDT peripherals — enough on-chip resources for a single-chip sensor interface or motor-control loop in an industrial enclosure. The 64-LQFP package (10x10 mm body) keeps the pin count high enough for 48 general-purpose I/O while fitting a standard reflow profile. The internal oscillator eliminates the external crystal in many applications, saving two pins and one BOM line.
End-of-life notice — plan the transition
The MSP430A025IPM carries an end-of-life (hot) status, meaning TI has announced discontinuation. Procurement should secure a last-time buy allocation or begin qualifying a replacement — the MSP430F2xx or MSP430G2xx series offers pin-compatible options with higher Flash density and lower active current. We source this part against RFQ through independent distribution; availability and current pricing are confirmed at quote time.
