Buck, boost, or both — one IC for non-isolated rails
The MC33063ADRJR is an adjustable switching regulator configurable as a step-down (buck) or step-up (boost) converter, or as a buck-boost topology for inverting supplies, in an 8-SON (4x4) package. Input voltage range spans 3V to 40V, and the output can be set anywhere from 1.25V up to 40V (switch rating), giving you a single IC for 5V, 12V, 24V, or adjustable intermediate bus rails. The 1.5A switch current rating is the peak inductor current limit; the actual output current depends on the input-output differential and topology — for a 12V-to-5V buck, expect around 1A continuous with good layout.
