Receiver hysteresis is specified at 500 mV, which gives the serial link margin against ground shifts and crosstalk on long cable runs — a practical advantage in factory-floor or vehicle harness installations. The single-supply range from 3V to 5.5V means the transceiver can run off a 3.3V logic rail or a 5V legacy bus without a separate RS-232 charge-pump supply, reducing BOM count.
