Switching frequency and inductor selection

The three programmable switching frequencies give the designer control over the inductor footprint and efficiency curve. Running at 1250 kHz shrinks the inductor footprint but increases switching losses.

The boost converter regulates the output voltage to the highest forward voltage among the five LED strings plus the headroom of the current sinks. The 16 V to 34.5 V output range covers most medium-format LCD panels.
