Built-in over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection eliminate the need for external supervisory circuits in most designs.
Supplied in DDPAK/TO-263-5 (TO-263-6 with tab) — a surface-mount package with an exposed thermal pad. The tab is the output pin and the primary heat path; a 1-inch² copper pad on the PCB drops RθJA significantly. The Enable control pin allows the regulator to be shut down, pulling quiescent current to near zero.
