Fixed 1.8V LDO with 1.5A output in DDPAK
The LP3962ES-1.8 is a fixed-output positive LDO regulator delivering 1.5A from a single enable-controlled rail. Output is fixed at 1.8V, with a maximum dropout of 0.55V at full load — the input rail must stay at least 550 mV above 1.8V across the load range to maintain regulation. The DDPAK/TO-263-5 surface-mount package (5 leads plus tab) suits medium-power designs where the copper pad area under the tab sets the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance.
Protection suite and quiescent draw
On-chip protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit events — a self-contained safeguard for the load and the regulator itself. Quiescent current is 9 mA typical; maximum supply current draws 15 mA, which sets the standing power loss in the pass element.
