Active production — 1.2V fixed-output LDO for low-noise rails
The LP3891ESX-1.2/NOPB is an 800 mA LDO from Texas Instruments with a fixed 1.2 V output — a common core supply for FPGAs, ASICs, and low-voltage digital logic that needs a clean, regulated rail.
Dropout and PSRR — the two numbers that decide the rail quality
PSRR measures 80 dB at 120 Hz and 65 dB at 1 kHz — the 120 Hz figure suppresses full-wave rectifier ripple by a factor of 10,000, while the 1 kHz figure still knocks down switching-regulator noise by a factor of ~1,800. Quiescent current is just 30 µA, making this LDO a good fit for always-on sub-circuits in battery-powered equipment where the regulator's own draw must not dominate the sleep budget.
Protection set and temperature range
Built-in protection covers overcurrent, overtemperature, short-circuit, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) — the part shuts down cleanly rather than letting the output sag into an undefined state.
ROHS3 compliant — no restricted substances under the latest EU directive, so it ships into global markets without exemption paperwork.
