1.5A fixed 1.8V LDO for post-regulation and low-voltage rails
The LP3852ES-1.8/NOPB: The 0.38V maximum dropout at full load means the input rail needs only 2.18V to maintain regulation — tight headroom for 2.5V or 3.3V intermediate buses feeding a 1.8V core or I/O rail. PSRR measures 73dB typical at 120Hz, rolling off to 57dB — this provides 140–700× attenuation of 100/120Hz ripple from a rectified AC source, critical for sensitive analog front-ends or audio circuits sharing the same supply. The 3mA quiescent current is fixed independent of load, so the regulator's own draw stays constant even in light-load standby. Operating temperature spans -40°C to 125°C, covering automotive under-hood and industrial enclosure environments without derating the output current.
DDPAK-5 package and board integration
Housed in a TO-263-6 (D²Pak) with 5 leads plus an exposed thermal tab — the supplier device package is DDPAK/TO-263-5. The tab on the bottom is the ground plane and primary heat path; a minimum 1 in² copper pad on the PCB topside, with thermal vias to inner layers, keeps the junction temperature within spec at 1.5A output. Surface-mount assembly with a standard reflow profile. The Enable pin (active high) allows external sequencing — pulling it low drops the output to zero and reduces supply current to the 10mA maximum supply current.
Active production and compliance
ROHS3 compliant, no exemptions. No official second-source or pin-compatible alternative is recorded; the part is single-sourced from TI. Supplied in tube packaging (standard for DDPAK hand-assembly or low-volume pick-and-place). The fixed 1.8V output version eliminates the need for external feedback resistors — two capacitors (input and output) are the only support components for a basic regulator circuit.
