63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz — noise rejection for sensitive rails
The LP2980IM5-ADJ/NOPB is a 50 mA adjustable positive LDO from Texas Instruments, built for low-noise analog and RF supply rails where power-supply rejection matters. Its 63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz knocks down switching-regulator ripple before it reaches a VCO, ADC reference, or sensor bias circuit. The 95 µA quiescent current keeps the battery drain low in always-on subsystems.
Adjustable output from 1.23 V to 15 V — one part, multiple rails
The output is adjustable via two external resistors from a 1.23 V reference up to 15 V. The 16 V maximum input gives headroom for 12 V intermediate buses.
Industrial temperature range and protection set
On-chip protection includes over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit — no external crowbar or foldback circuit needed. The enable pin lets a microcontroller gate the rail for sequenced power-up or sleep-mode power-down.
SOT-23-5 footprint and sourcing posture
The LP2980IM5-ADJ/NOPB comes in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package, surface-mount for automated assembly.
