What a designer needs to know about this 3.3V LDO
It is the part you reach for when a clean, regulated 3.3 V rail is needed for an analog or mixed-signal load that cannot tolerate the ripple from a switcher. Its 63 dB PSRR at 1 kHz means it knocks down switching supply ripple by a factor of roughly 1400, which is the difference between a noisy digital rail and a clean analog supply for an op-amp or ADC reference.
Dropout and headroom — the real-world margin
Maximum dropout is 0.22 V at the full 50 mA load. That means with a 3.3 V output, the input can sag to 3.52 V and the regulator still holds regulation. In a battery-powered design with a 3.7 V Li-ion cell, that buys useful run time before the undervoltage lockout kicks in. Input voltage range extends to 16 V, so the part can also drop from a 5 V or 12 V rail without issue.
Protection features that matter on a production board
