RF PLL synthesizer — 2.24 GHz ceiling defines the band
The Texas Instruments LMX2541SQX2060E/NOPB is a BiCMOS PLL frequency synthesizer for RF clock generation, covering a maximum output frequency of 2.24 GHz. It integrates the phase detector, charge pump, and VCO in a single 36-WQFN (6x6) package with an exposed thermal pad. The part accepts a clock input and delivers a clock output with a 2:2 input-to-output ratio, and includes a divider but no internal multiplier. It operates from a 3.15 V to 3.45 V supply rail and is specified over the -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range.
Supply rail tolerance — 3.3 V nominal, ±4.5% window
The 3.15 V to 3.45 V supply range is tighter than many RF PLLs. A 3.3 V rail with ±5% tolerance (3.135 V to 3.465 V) sits right at the lower edge. The regulator feeding this part should be set to 3.3 V ±2% or better to keep the VCO and charge pump within spec across temperature. The exposed pad (36-WQFN) needs a solid via-stitched ground plane under the part for thermal and RF return-path integrity.
Active lifecycle — no end-of-life concern
The LMX2541SQX2060E/NOPB carries an Active product status with ROHS3 compliance.
Package and mounting — 36-WQFN with exposed pad
Surface-mount in a 36-WFQFN exposed-pad package (supplier device package 36-WQFN 6x6 mm). The exposed pad is the primary thermal and RF ground path.
