AEC-Q100 dual op-amp for automotive and industrial signal chains
The Texas Instruments LMV358Q3MAX/NOPB is a dual-channel, general-purpose operational amplifier from the LMV® series, qualified to AEC-Q100 for automotive applications. It delivers a 1 MHz gain-bandwidth product with a 1 V/µs slew rate, rail-to-rail output swing, and draws 210 µA total supply current across both channels.
Rail-to-rail output and 160 mA drive — what it means for the BOM
The rail-to-rail output lets the amplifier swing within millivolts of the supply rails, preserving dynamic range in low-voltage systems. The 160 mA output current per channel is notably high for a micropower op-amp — it can directly drive the analog input of a SAR ADC or a small relay coil without an external buffer transistor, saving a component and a board trace.
Temperature grade and deployment environment
The operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C covers the industrial and passenger-cabin automotive envelope. For under-hood or engine-bay environments that require a higher rating, a different grade would be needed. The AEC-Q100 qualification means the part has passed the stress tests for automotive reliability — useful for any design targeting production in vehicles, heavy equipment, or outdoor industrial gear where the supplier demands qualified parts.
