Product details

Quad-channel general-purpose op-amp with AEC-Q100 grade

The Texas Instruments LMV324M is a quad-channel, general-purpose operational amplifier from the Automotive, AEC-Q100-qualified LMV® series.

The 1 MHz gain-bandwidth product supports closed-loop gains up to 100 with a usable bandwidth of 10 kHz, which covers most automotive sensor interfaces (pressure, temperature, position) and low-speed data acquisition. The 1V/µs slew rate limits large-signal distortion below 100 kHz, so fast pulse edges or high-frequency PWM conditioning are not this part's role — it is built for precision at moderate speed, not video or switching-regulator feedback.

Rail-to-rail output and 160 mA drive

Each amplifier can source or sink 160 mA, enough to directly drive small relays, LEDs, or the input of an ADC reference buffer without an external transistor stage.

Input offset and bias — DC accuracy considerations

Maximum input offset voltage is 1.7 mV, and input bias current is 15 nA. For a gain of 10, the offset at the output is 17 mV worst-case — acceptable for 8-bit or low-resolution sensing, but a precision amplifier with sub-100 µV offset would be a better fit for a 12-bit+ load-cell or shunt-current measurement. The 15 nA bias current matters when source impedance exceeds 100 kΩ; a CMOS-input op-amp with picoamp bias would be preferred for high-impedance transducers.

14-SOIC package — standard footprint, no surprises

Housed in a 14-SOIC (3.90 mm width) package, the LMV324M uses the industry-standard narrow SOIC footprint. Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow profiles applies; no special handling beyond MSL precautions. The 14-SOIC is a rework-friendly package for both initial build and field repair.
