2 A automotive buck with wide input range
The LMR43620MSC3RPERQ1 is a Texas Instruments automotive-grade step-down buck converter in the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series, delivering 2 A continuous output from a 3 V to 36 V input range. The wide input covers cold-crank and load-dump conditions on a 12 V or 24 V automotive bus without an external pre-regulator. Switching at a fixed 2.2 MHz keeps the inductor and output capacitor small — the 9-VFQFN-HR (2x2) package with wettable flank supports automated optical inspection (AOI) on the assembly line. The output is adjustable from a 1 V reference up to 18 V, with a fixed 3.3 V option on the same die — the MSC3R suffix selects the 3.3 V fixed version. Synchronous rectification is integrated, so no external Schottky diode is needed.
Grade-0 temperature capability and AEC-Q100 qualification
Operating junction temperature spans -40°C to 150°C (TJ), placing it in the AEC-Q100 Grade-0 band — the highest reliability tier for underhood and engine-mounted electronics. Grade-0 qualification means the part passes the full suite of AEC-Q100 stress tests (HTSL, TC, HAST, HTOL) at the 150°C limit, which is the OEM auditor's first check.
Active lifecycle and sourcing posture
For new designs, this part is a first-choice candidate; there is no imminent last-time-buy risk. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) packaging for the 9-VFQFN footprint. Sourced through authorized and independent distribution channels; current pricing and lead time are confirmed at RFQ against the BOM quantity.
