Product details

Dual CMOS op-amp with precision DC and wide bandwidth

Each channel draws 1.3 mA supply current, and the output can source or sink 66 mA.

Package and mounting

The 17 MHz gain-bandwidth product supports closed-loop gains up to 100 with a usable bandwidth above 170 kHz, adequate for precision data-acquisition systems sampling at 100 kSPS or higher. The 10 µV maximum offset eliminates the need for external nulling in most applications; at a gain of 100, the output DC error is only 1 mV. The 0.1 pA bias current allows direct connection to high-impedance sources without a buffer — a photodiode with 10 MΩ source resistance produces less than 1 µV of offset error from bias current alone.

The rail-to-rail output stage swings within 50 mV of each rail at light loads, preserving dynamic range in low-voltage systems. Output current capability of 66 mA per channel can drive the analog input of a successive-approximation ADC directly, or a small relay coil through a series resistor.

It is suitable for both new design-ins and ongoing production. There is no official successor part — the LMP7712MM is the current offering in this precision dual op-amp line.

Frequently asked questions

What is the typical application for LMP7712MM?

The LMP7712MM is typically used in precision sensor signal conditioning — photodiode amplifiers, thermocouple and RTD front-ends, weigh-scale bridges, and medical instrumentation. Its low offset and bias suit high-impedance sources, while the 17 MHz GBW and rail-to-rail output also make it useful for audio processing and active filters.

Can LMP7712MM be substituted with LMP7711?

The LMP7711 is a single-channel version of the same amplifier family. The LMP7712MM is a dual-channel device, so substitution requires two LMP7711s and a PCB change. Electrical characteristics are otherwise identical.

What is the equivalent part for LMP7712MM?

A close functional equivalent is the TLV9362IDDFR — also a dual, rail-to-rail CMOS op-amp with similar supply range and temperature grade. The TLV9362IDDFR has a 10.6 MHz GBW and 25 V/µs slew rate, trading some bandwidth for faster edge response. Pin compatibility should be verified against the respective datasheets.
