Micropower precision amp for battery and sensor front-ends
The Texas Instruments LMP2231AMFE/NOPB is a single general-purpose operational amplifier from the LMP® and PowerWise® series, aimed at precision low-power signal conditioning. It draws 10 µA supply current and operates from 1.6 V to 5.5 V, making it a natural fit for battery-powered instruments, portable medical sensors, and remote IoT nodes where every microamp counts. The rail-to-rail output swings close to both supply rails, preserving dynamic range in low-voltage single-supply chains.
The gain-bandwidth product of 130 kHz and slew rate of 0.058 V/µs place this amplifier firmly in the slow-path precision category. It handles DC and low-frequency AC signals — thermocouple outputs, strain-gauge bridges, photodiode currents below a few kilohertz — but it will not drive an audio line or a high-speed ADC input. The 30 mA output per channel is enough to drive a reference input or a modest load, not a cable or a speaker.
Femtoamp bias and microvolt offset
Input bias current of 0.02 pA and input offset voltage of 10 µV are the precision credentials. For a photodiode transimpedance amplifier or a thermocouple cold-junction compensator, those numbers mean the error budget stays dominated by the sensor, not the amplifier. The 10 µV offset is factory-trimmed; no external nulling is required.
Housed in a 5-pin SOT-23-5 package, surface-mount only. ROHS3 compliant, no lead or halide exemptions to track.
