Programmable frequency range and supply tolerance
The LMK61E2-SIAT: This is a programmable clock oscillator covering 400 MHz, 900 MHz, and 1 GHz output frequencies — the three factory-programmed options cover the common SerDes reference and FPGA transceiver clock rates without needing an external PLL. Supply voltage tolerance is 3.135 V to 3.465 V, a ±5 % window around the nominal 3.3 V rail. A 162 mA supply current at the top frequency means the local LDO or switching regulator must budget 540 mW dissipation into the 8-QFM package's thermal pad.
The 8-SMD module footprint (7x5 mm QFM) is a surface-mount land-grid array with an exposed center pad. Decoupling should follow the standard 0.1 µF + 1 µF ceramic caps placed within 2 mm of the supply pins, with the ground vias tied directly to the exposed-pad plane. The 3.135 V minimum supply means the local regulator's dropout must stay under 165 mV at 162 mA to keep the oscillator within spec.
