150 MHz fixed-frequency oscillator for precision clock trees
The LMK60E2-150M00SIAT is a 150 MHz fixed-frequency clock oscillator from TI's LMK60E2 family, packaged in a 6-QFM (7x5) surface-mount module.
A standard 3.3 V LDO with ±2 % accuracy covers it, but a switching regulator with 50 mV ripple may push the oscillator out of spec at the low end. At 85°C ambient, the 162 mA supply current contributes about 1.3 W dissipation in the 7x5 mm QFM package — the thermal pad on the PCB must have a solid via array to the ground plane to keep the die temperature within limits.
Package and footprint — layout checklist
The 6-QFM (7x5) package has a 7 mm × 5 mm body with a centre thermal pad. The six signal pads are on a 1.27 mm pitch — typical for this oscillator class. No pull-up or pull-down resistors are needed on the output; the oscillator drives a CMOS or LVDS load directly.
