High-speed current-feedback op-amp for video and pulse applications
The LMH6723MA is a single-channel current-feedback operational amplifier from the LMH® series, housed in an 8-SOIC package. It delivers a 370 MHz -3 dB bandwidth and a 600 V/µs slew rate, drawing only 1 mA of supply current. The amplifier operates from a single or dual supply spanning 4.5 V to 12 V, with an output capable of 110 mA per channel.
A 600 V/µs slew rate means this amplifier can swing a 5 V peak-to-peak output in under 8.3 ns, making it suitable for driving video signals (NTSC/PAL composite, 720p component) and fast pulse trains without significant slew-induced distortion. The current-feedback topology maintains this slew rate across the gain range, unlike voltage-feedback amps where slew rate is proportional to gain-bandwidth product. For a gain of +2, the 370 MHz -3 dB bandwidth is still available, but for gains above +10 expect bandwidth to drop roughly proportionally — a trade-off typical of current-feedback architectures.
